Thoughts #2: Everybody’s Fine

Everybody’s Fine is a film about a recent widower (Bobby DeNiro) who realizes that he has little to no personal connection with his 4 grown children. When none of them show up at his house for dinner, he packs his meds and heads out the door to find them across the country.
The story that ensues showcases DeNiro’s ever strong acting abilities and emotional heart. I couldn’t help but parallel many parts of this film to my own life. Some good parts, but mostly the bad ones.
In the end, happiness triumphs, after certain tragedies. I suppose there isn’t much else I could ask for in life, but a happy ending.
A tear jerker, but a film that will fall under the radar unfortunately. Seek this one out when it hits DVD.
