Thoughts #5: Daybreakers
Ethan hawke you can do no wrong. Ethan hawke plus vampires!?? Epic.
Daybreakers is a terrible film, which I absolutely loved! The idea behind the film is quite original in vampire regard. Quite refreshing in fact. Vampires rule the world with only a small amount of humans left in hiding. But the vampires are starving - with a quickly depleting natural blood source the vampires need to find altenate means to harvest human blood.
The story follows Ethan hawkes character where he teams up with underground humans to help cure the “vampire” disease.
The premise is quite unique and intriguing, although the execution of the premise is poor. The film seems to jump all over the place, skimming over parts that should have been drawn out more and stretching out less important parts.
Any vampire film aficionado would enjoy this film- but don’t hold your breath for any Interview with the Vampire sequel.
